Outside Views With Windows

Here's some outside views of the house with some windows installed.

Spring is Coming!

It has been an interesting few weeks. Bobby and I have both battled sickness, it has been a mix of all kinds of weather in the High Country, but we have been hard at work trying to get things picked out for the house!
Since I last updated, they have framed in the bonus room up above the garage and our bedroom. We hope this will be a place of lots of fun in the future! It will most likely end up being Bobby's space to put TV's and games. Here are some pics that show the progression of the bonus room coming into being!!

What got us the most excited on this day though, was the fact that we looked out some of the openings and we saw a group of bright blue Bluejays flying around our yard. It was a great sign for us that Spring was on its way!!

In the week that followed, we continued to see more progress!! Windows went in, the back patio doors were installed, and the house got "closed up" so to speak. They are now able to work inside no matter what the weather. It is still chilly, but at least rain and snow can't get in now!!

Also the windows at the front of the house overlooking the front porch were installed:

The door you see in that picture is what I am affectionately calling the "Fake Front Door". It is just a temporary door until ours comes in to keep the house closed up. It was still pretty neat to see though!

In our most recent trip to the house, Bobby and I spent a good bit of time trying to lay out where we think the Kitchen Bar will go. Bobby has a great sense of being able to figure these things out, so this is our rough estimate of where it will go. We were doing this to try and figure out if we have enough room to add a eat-in bar to the counter. We think we can, but we will still need to run it by Mark the Builder and his plumber that we are supposed to meet with this week.

This past week we also decided on roofing, siding, and a lot of plumbing fixtures. Hopefully in the next blog we will have some updates involving those things!! Until then, we are hoping that Spring will continue to come and that progress can continue!!
